Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs skilled manual labor in general up-keep and maintenance of public parks
Examples of Duties
UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION
Uses a variety of hand and power tools in performing maintenance on equipment, buildings and other structures
Makes minor adjustments on equipment
Uses hand truck wheelbarrow or industrial truck to transport materials at designated areas
Performs light carpentry or painting work in the general upkeep of buildings and grounds
Assists skilled workers in the maintenance of equipment or buildings
Digs ditches for water pipelines, graves or monument foundations
Replaces or repairs playground equipment
Performs general up-keep duties of golf course, cemetery, grounds, tennis courts and swimming pools
Reports deficiencies in equipment to immediate supervisor
Operates assigned vehicles
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds
Lifts and carries items weighing over 70 pounds in a team setting
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements
