Position Title: Paralegal
Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) has immediate openings for remote full-time and part-time paralegals to support our staff attorneys across the country. Responsibilities:
- Manage Dropbox case files (uploading documents, converting documents, creating folders, etc.)
- Bates stamp documents to be produced
- Proofread legal documents
- File documents in multiple jurisdictions
- Process third party and vendor invoices
- Make travel arrangements for attorney
- File, organize, scan, copy, and fax legal documents in a timely manner
- Answer phone calls, take notes/messages, and redirect emails and calls when appropriate
- Schedule court depositions, hearings, and other meetings
- Maintain deadlines by keeping multiple calendars and provide timely reminders
- Conduct client interviews and maintain general contact with the client
- Locate and interview witnesses
- Conduct legal research
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimony
- Other matters as our staff attorneys deem necessary
Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience as a paralegal
- Familiarity with legal documents and terminology
- Working knowledge of litigation management software systems
- Ability to type with a speed of at least 50 wpm with high accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Able to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
- Communicates when things aren't working well versus not communicating
- Handles information and documents confidentially
- Able to work as a team with attorneys and other colleagues and receive instructions well
- Demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor
- Superior written and oral communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
