Prepares customer orders for shipping by picking and packaging.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Read shop orders, pick list and other work instructions to determine daily requirements. Pays careful attention to customer specific requirements or special instructions.
• Moves material within the warehouse, production floor or outside storage facility to and from the loading platform by carrying pushing, rolling or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors or other material handling equipment
• Loads and unloads materials and parts from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
• Prioritize jobs by due date, expedite list, ship via - on daily log.
• Determines size of container needed and forms CB boxes, inserts product into bags or containers with protective padding per customer & company requirement. Counts checks, packages and labels packages for shipment to customer, affixes labels to bags and boxes or marks crates as required.
• Enters inventory from production per written work order and pick list.
• Counts and/or weighs and records number of units of materials moved or handled and enters into computer or on manual documentation. Keeps accurate and complete records of all incoming and outgoing material, parts and/or finished goods.
• Notified appropriate personnel when shipping supplies are low, retrieves, restocks additional supplies as needed.
• Serves as a resource to others in the department and assists with orientation, training, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
SUPERVISION
Works under general supervision on varied, but standardized tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required.
Must have clear understanding of basic math and have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (work orders, safety and operational instructions.
Must have working knowledge of statistical process control.
Computer, e-mail, internet and creating labels experience preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Spends 100% of time in shop. May be exposed to possible shop hazards including heavy machinery, fumes, dust, heat and high pressure and temperatures.
