The Production Packaging Associate reports directly to the Packaging Supervisor and Production Manager and is responsible for the packaging of products, maintaining sanitation requirements and restocking.
Role, Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform the packaging operation to ensure the product meets the specifications providing efficient storage and shipment
- Ensure Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations are followed at all times to keep our processing procedures within the federal guide lines
- Assist with the restocking of all boxes, vacuuming bags and refilling roll stock for all packaging machines.
- Inspect in-process packaging to ensure consistent quality and remove any defective products and packaging material
- Changing of Juliann dates on machines and daily sanitation of all machines, and insuring that the water and air compressor will turned on at the beginning of the shift and off at the end of the shift
- Prior to start up sanitize all machines and properly assemble as well as proper shut down, cleaning and sanitation of machines at end of shift
- Review work orders so product is packaged and labeled according to specifications
- Other duties as assigned by manager on duty
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be able to read and write in English and perform basic mathematics
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow work orders, as well as package and label the product correctly
- Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision
- Must be able to adapt and react to changing needs and priorities
- Adhere to high standards of sanitation and hygiene
- Must have excellent observation skills to prevent out-of-quality situations and production line problems
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in packaging or other manufacturing operations
- Operating knowledge of all machines in the packaging room. These machines include the Dixie Skin pack, Multipack or pouch forming machines, the camber vacuum machine, the banding machine and the label printing machine
Salary Range: $16.00 - $18.00/ hour
Shift: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM- 4:30 PM

- Must be able to use hands to pick, handle, feel, finger; reach with hands and arms, pull and push trays with product, levers and boxes.

- Possess normal vision with or without correction and able to distinguish colors
- Possess fluent speech in English, writing and communication skills necessary to effectively carry out job functions
- Must be able to read and comprehend work related materials, numerical data and diagrams.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 70 pounds using correct lifting techniques.
- Must be able to stand and walk on feet all day, except for scheduled breaks.
- Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment at 38-42F.
