**About the role
**
The Analytical Instrumentation Chemist will be responsible for the on-going task of utilizing and maintaining testing equipment at our Port Newark, NJ location. Key duties will be to carry out analysis, record keeping, results reporting, troubleshooting of analytical problems and the general maintenance and calibration of instrumentation. The Analytical Instrumentation Chemist will be a super user for key advanced chemistry instruments. This role will be part of a team providing 24/7 on-site lab coverage.
**Responsibilities

On-going instrument utilization and method development for but not limited to HPLC/LC-MS /NIR / GC/GC-MS.Maintenance and calibration of instrumentsRecord keeping and reporting of resultsTroubleshooting analytical problemsProvide instrument training to team members when necessaryHelp standardize analytical methods between AAK facilitiesProvide some troubleshooting support for other AAK facilitiesRegular, predictable attendance is required as an essential job function to carry out responsibilities of position.
**About you
**
Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or other physical science or equivalent experience working as an Analytical Chemist.Must have ability to work independently. Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are required.Should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).Laboratory experience, preferably in a food, drug or chemical laboratory, is required. Chromatography experience is preferred (HPLC / GC). Travel is occasional.
