Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Outside Machinist for projects located in Newport News, VA . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $27.31/hour based on experience and skill level plus $120/per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
Test boiler operations
Installation of sea valves
Use of lapping and blue checking tools
Operate lathe
Requirements
Understanding of basic ship systems
Familiarity with fasteners
Ability to comprehend complex drawings, blueprints, diagrams and sketches
Working knowledge of shipbuilding terms and nomenclature
Minimum of 7+ years of Maritime Outside Machinist experience
