Form of workThe Stanford Our Voice Initiative is seeking a Research Assistant and Implementation Coordinator (Social Science Research Professional 1) to play a critical role in supporting the development and Implementation of Citizen Science projects across the Bay Area, the country, and the world.
Duties include:
- Provide expert consultation, training and support to potential and existing collaborators across the world, across all project phases (planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Maintain and ensure copyright protection of the Our Voice Digital Toolkit, including the development and dissemination of tailored materials to support project implementation across sites.
- Provide technical assistance and onsite project support for Our Voice collaborations as needed/appropriate.
- Oversee processing of Discovery Tool data and creating of project-level data reports; troubleshooting as needed.
- Manage programmatic databases (RedCap, OV Dashboard), ensuring quality and consistency of data entry as well as timely reporting.
- Work with software development team to optimize performance and uptake of Our Voice technologies, coordinate field testing and feedback, track and address bugs, ensure compliance with security requirements, and communicate with partners as appropriate.
- Manage consistent and rigorous tracking and documentation of project data across global sites.
- Research and develop survey instruments, disseminating for consistent use across the Our Voice Global Network.
- Actively support full compliance with all relevant IRB/Human Subjects protocols; submit modifications and assist in development of new protocols as needed.
- Lead in investigating integration with clinical care, application of VR/AR and other new technologies.
- Oversee development, maintenance and refinement of digital content for the Our Voice website and Social Media, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available and accessible to a wide range of audiences.
- Perform literature reviews, data analysis, web searches, and other research tasks as needed
- Develop and deliver presentations and trainings to a wide variety of collaborators, participants, and stakeholders.
- Draft and/or co-author manuscripts for scientific publication.
- Assist in the planning and Implementation of events (e.g., webinars, network meetings, etc.).
- Attend meetings and trainings and assist in notetaking, photography, and other forms of documentation as needed.
- Monitor funding opportunities and assist in preparing grant applications and supporting materials as needed.
- Hire, train, and supervise student interns and Research Assistants.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in public health, psychology, health, social sciences, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience with excellent recommendations.
- Academic background and experience in public health, psychology, health, social sciences, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- Experience working in Citizen Science programs/projects, community health, health equity, and/or community-based participatory research.
- Considerable experience working with socioeconomically diverse populations; ability to understand and implement work to optimize accessibility and appropriateness for a wide range of individuals and groups.
- High level of verbal and written proficiency in English; Spanish and/or other languages is strongly preferred.
- Must be meticulously organized, conscientious, mature, and sensitive to a range of constituent and stakeholder needs.
- Flexible and adaptable; willing to multitask and re-prioritize as needed to manage sometimes complex and changing work demands across multiple projects.
- Team player with a commitment to clear and consistent communication.
- Creative thinker and proactive problem solver with a clear sense of boundaries and commitment to consulting with others as needed/appropriate to enhance outputs and resolve challenges.
- Ability to exercise sound knowledge, complex thinking, flexibility in the face of unexpected challenges, and proactive problem-solving in contributing to the development, delivery, and evaluation of content for behavioral change interventions.
- Experience with development of mobile apps and tech platforms for broad use.
- High degree of comfort with digital communications, new technologies (e.g., VR/AR), and multi-use databases; experience using RedCAP is a plus.
- Exemplary experience in supporting both academic research and community-campus collaborations.
- Strong understanding of principles and practice of community-based participatory research.
- High level of comfort and proficiency in use or mobile and other digital technologies.
- Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master new programs.
- Ability to work independently to achieve key milestones while maintaining clear and consistent communication with supervisor and other team members and stakeholders as appropriate.
- Superb organizational skills and demonstrated dedication to detail.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
- General understanding of scientific theory and methods, typically gained through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
- Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.

- Ability to work with human study participants.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
- Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.
- Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, and operates foot and/or hand controls.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May be required to work non-standard, extended or weekend hours in support of research work.

The expected pay range for this position is $48,000 to $71,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
