Summary:
The staff OT/Hand Therapist will have the education, knowledge, and skill to provide out-patient services, focusing on a population consisting of patients in need of care for upper extremity due to post-operative procedures, fractures, tendon repairs, repetitive stress diagnosis, multiple trauma, wound care, ligament injuries, nerve injuries/neuropathies to pediatric patients. Strong splinting skills and experience in post-operative & post-trauma are highly desirable. Evaluation, treatment and home programming are provided for children/adolescents in accordance with physician referral, state and local organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures. The position shall include patient and caregiver education and consultation to other professionals, clinics and agencies, both within Cook Childrens Health Care System and within the community. The staff OT/Hand Therapist will also be expected to participate in school-based sports medicine physicals and/or injury prevention education and screening. Documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services shall follow department and system policies.

Education:
- Doctorate, Masters, or Bachelors Degree in OT.
- Experience in Hand Therapy preferred. Pediatric experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- BLS certification.
- Texas State license for occupational therapy, or eligible for state licensure. Certification in Hand Therapy, preferred.
