Osp Manager-Relocation Assistance Available

Location: Conway, AR (on-site)

Reports To: Director of Operations
Pay Rate: $95,000-$110,000 Plus Bonus

About The Opportunity:

SQUAN is a leading telecommunications company dedicated to providing reliable and innovative solutions to our clients. We specialize in designing, implementing, and managing Outside Plant (OSP) projects that drive connectivity and communication across diverse landscapes. As we continue to expand and grow, we are seeking a dynamic OSP Engineer Manager to join our team and lead out OSP Engineering efforts. As the OSP Engineer Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of skilled field engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects while adhering to industry standards, safety protocols, and client requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet or exceed expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support
• Work with other department heads on both daily and long-term plans to ensure that all the various department’s goals are aligned
• Provide training and field personnel development to both new and existing employees in technology, work practices, etc.
• Build and maintain a teamwork-oriented philosophy and hold team members accountable for their performance
• Provide the necessary individual counseling for employees whose performance does not meet acceptable standards and take appropriate actions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the OSP engineering team, optimizing processes and implementing best practices
• Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging standards in OSP engineering

Requirements:

• 5 years of proven experience as an OSP Engineer manager
• Proven experience in managing a team of at least 10 engineers, preferably in the OSP engineering field
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to OSP infrastructure
• Proficiency in using OSP design software and tools such as AutoCAD
• Proven fielding experience and comfortable working in the field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients
• Problem-solving mind set with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions
• Proven ability to completely coach and develop a fielding team within the telecom industry
• Must be comfortable going on-site daily
• Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
