Job Summary:
The OSP Engineer is responsible for tracking FTTH permit status', updates, payments, communicating permit inaccuracies and oversights to the Sr. Engineer, providing clear and detailed documents and spreadsheet to pole owners. Experience and working knowledge with Site Tracker, Smart sheet and power company portals such as PPl, Spans and NJUNS would be a plus. The OSP Engineer processes process permits, Self-Remedy / Self-Help documentation for pole owners.
Qualification Requirements:
a. Education: AS degree in a relevant engineering or technology field is desired. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered.
b. Experience Level:
i. 3 or more years of experience in outside plant engineering disciplines to include copper, coax, or fiber optic design
ii, Experience in Right-Of-Way and easement acquisition and law; experience in communications with property owners and permitting agencies. Strong permitting background preferred.
c. Special Requirements:
i. Project management experience
ii. Able to interpret technical material and blue prints with knowledge of fiber optic technology
iii. Knowledge of invoicing and "Make Ready" experience strongly preferred
iv. Hold a valid government-issued driver's license
d. Skill Requirements:
i. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
ii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
iii. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
iv. Computer based programs and field equipment use, specifically Microsoft Office products
