Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for an Engineering Manager 3 - Engineering Digital Development and Integration Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership position will be based in Melbourne, FL or Rancho Bernardo, CA.
As the Engineering Digital Development and Integration Lead, the manager will serve as the NGAS CFL for the Digital Design portfolio for the Digital Transformation Office and the lead for the Model Based Engineering development, integration and deployment team under the AS Digital Transformation team.
As the NGAS Core Functional Lead (CFL) for Digital Design, responsible for developing and coordinating the approval of tool development/implementation roadmaps, helping guide the development of the digital design portfolio within the DTO, coordinating with the impacted engineering functional homerooms and adopting programs to ensure requirements and implementation solutions are in line with current operations. Identifying operational impacts of new digital design solutions and coordinating those changes with both the NGAS DT office and engineering functional homerooms. Support Sector Proposal Review Teams, IRT, Program and Capture Teams as the Capabilities Subject Matter Expert (aligned with functions) and lead educating teams on solution proposal artifacts for reuse.
Assess Sector SOO's, Identify Solution, and track fulfillment (evidence of success) and work with Division/Site/Function Leads to collect / Capture Value Metrics for their solutions/function. Manage the schedule and performance and obtain insight into the budget allocated to/of the solutions that are in the Digital Design portfolio and identify any risks associated to planned deployments. Develop change management and training plans in partnership with the enterprise change management team to ensure AS sector user preparedness and adoption readiness.
As the Model Based Engineering lead responsible for defining Model Based Engineering strategy and long range requirements as part of the digital enterprise. Develop the overall MBE flight Plans/deliverables/milestones and establish regular PMRs with program and engineering functional homerooms. Implement tactical initiatives to support program needs and execute on SOO Goals. Define detail plan, budget estimates, and execution with cost and schedule constraints. Ensure Model Based tools strategies and roadmaps are consistent with Sector Engineering Tools plans and approaches. Provide Subject Matter Expertise on an as needed basis when directed by Engineering Tools lead. Define program and functional training needs and develop training material in partnership with engineering technical disciplines. Partner with Enterprise Services to define requirements that go into their development backlog and prepare the team for testing of the deployed software in preparation for release.
As the Digital Design and Model Based Engineering department manager responsible to provide functional management leadership and SOW tasking as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 9 years of engineering experience to include a background in Model Based Engineering or Digital Tool Development and Integration OR Master of Science Degree in STEM with 7 years of engineering experience to include a background in Model Based Engineering or Digital Tool Development and Integration
- CPLM experience
- Prior experience as a functional homeroom manager
- Prior program management experience
- Must have an active DoD secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

- NX and/or Harnesses
- Cameo and Systems Engineering tools
Salary Range: $156,000.00 - $271,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
