Our client, Gentell is hiring for an Order Intake Specialist!
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Order Intake Supervisor, the Order Intake Specialist will process sales orders for wound care products for residents of nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities. The Specialist reviews medical documentation and payer information so that patient orders are dispensed promptly and precisely following Medicare guidelines.
We are looking for candidates with drive, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, keen memorization, and confidence navigating computer systems. Applicants should thrive in teamwork and a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology such as ICD-10 codes, HCPCs/CPT codes, modifiers, and records is required; industry-specific training will be provided (wound care products).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify eligibility and benefits of all Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and Managed Care insurances.
- Process patient demographics and create patient profiles.
- Receive, review and process orders for wound care products, while ensuring orders are in line with insurance qualifications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplier standards.
- Add correct HCPCS code(s), modifier(s), and ICD-10 code(s) to product orders before dispensing.
- Reviewing clinical documentation to ensure compliance with payer's guidelines.
- Work in strong collaboration with all internal and external team members, inside and outside of the department.
- Approach clinical staff with an attitude of professional service to collaborate on product order modifications.
- Conduct operations in accordance with department protocol and in compliance with Federal, State, and payer regulations, guidelines, and requirements.
- Respond to incoming customer phone calls in a timely manner.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma
- At least 2 years working in an office environment
- Knowledge of patient registration; HCPCS/CPT coding; ICD-10 coding; LCDs; insurance allowables; Medicare guidelines for DME; supplier standards for DME
- Familiarity with insurance billing and payer requirements
- Ability to maintain excellent, minute-to-minute communication with management and co-workers
- Proficient use of computer systems, fast and accurate typing skills, and ability to learn new software applications
- Highly attentive to detail and accuracy
- Task- and goal-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet daily quota
- Customer service attitude
- Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and/or Wound Care orders preferred.
- DME certification and/or Medical Billing and Coding certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Brightree a plus
