Order Entry Specialist

General description and position summary

This position is responsible for supporting the customer service and production departments by facilitating the incoming check-in process of rubber cover rolls. The work assigned is based upon the individuals training, experience and ability. This includes performing incoming inspection of roll sizes, hardness and other pertinent details and documentation. Insuring roll specifications are maintained with comprehensive documentation of the production process required to meet the customer’s requirements. The Supervisor may assign specific equipment or other task at the supervisor’s discretion.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Duties

• Inspect incoming customer rolls and miscellaneous parts materials. Correctly identify part numbers, descriptions, dimensions, receiving papers and sociated purchase orders.
• Coordinate customer’s specifications, including new requirements, past orders, previous specifications, blueprints or drawings, prior production issues, processing failures, blueprints or drawings.
• Ability to measure journals/bores and ability to check threads for any necessary repairs.
• Enter customer orders and respective roll specifications in the MRP Database.
• Insure incoming rolls and parts are labeled properly with the respective orders and order detail number.
• Coordinate and ensure that all specifications are recorded into the computer system, and printed on job routers.
• Responsible for moving rolls with forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Assist in bearing, gear and part removal as required.
• Watch for and properly process and notify proper department personnel/scheduler when rush orders are received.
• Knowledge of filing system, and ability to properly file job tickets and blueprints.
• Ability to help with or unload supplier trucks and company trucks.
• Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, purchasing, and scheduling personnel.
• Maintain a clean work environment, floors swept, supplies properly stored, equipment cleaned and well maintained.
• Awareness of and adherence to all suitable and relevant environmental, health, and safety policies.

· Ability to work collaboratively across departments to accomplish daily company objectives

· Maintain records, files, and databases for future reference

Qualifications

· Language Skills

o Read, Write, and understands English.

o Read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical documents.

o Write legible documentation conforming to prescribed style and format.

o Communicates effectively.

· Mathematical Skills

o Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including Durometer gauges, Micrometers, Vernier diameter tapes, Dial indicators, Profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.

o Understands/applies basic math, including accurate addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

· Other Skills

o Learn and utilize safe operating procedures.

o Strong reasoning ability.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

· Must be trained and certified to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

Physical Demands

· Stand, bend, and stooping for extended periods of time.

· Reaches by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.

· Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently.

· Required ability to use finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects and lift 50 pounds.

· Vision ability within normal parameters.

· Hearing within normal range.

· Coordination to step over and maneuver around obstacles.

· Demonstrates safe operating habits.

Work Environment

· Exposure to atmospheric conditions and weather.

· Exposure to noise conditions permissible by government regulation.

· Exposure to dust and smoke conditions permissible by government regulation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTs

· High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency

· Experience in a manufacturing or customer service position is preferred

· Good organization skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
