Dental / Oral Surgery Assistant
Our client located in the Buffalo Grove area, has an immediate need for a full-time career-minded, self-driven, organized, and friendly Dental/Oral Surgery Assistant for a fast-paced EMR environment. This position will perform a variety of office duties and be the face of the practice while assisting the surgical team. Some type of Dental experience is required. Training for the position on the various surgical procedures is available. This is a growing Oral Surgery Medical Office. Our client is looking for a right-hand person to serve as a “Goodwill Ambassador” to help build the practice through customer service, client engagement and strong people skills. We need someone with a can do, willing to learn attitude. Our client provides an excellent working environment.
Responsibilities of this position revolve around creating a world-class experience by developing relationships with patients and sharing top-quality, education.
- Prepare patients for surgery.
- Assist surgeons as needed during various procedures.
- Assist in the sterilization of instruments.
- ·Cleaning and organizing equipment.
- ·Ordering and maintain supply inventory.
- Assist in taking digital x-rays and digital impressions.
- ·Participate in staff and doctor continuing education.
- ·Anticipate the needs of the surgeons in order to ensure a seamless and positive experience for our patients.
- ·Maintain a clean clinical area and waiting room.
Education and Experience:
- ·1-2 years dental/medical assistant office experience is required
- Previous experience working in a dental environment is required
- Experience in delivering great customer service.
- ·Possess excellent communication skills in person and over the phone.
- ·Warm and engaging personality.
- ·Willingness to learn and is self-motivated.
- ·Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with customers and co-workers.
- ·Ability to work as a team member in a collaborative family like environment.
- ·Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Empathetic with patient needs and concerns.
- Ability to anticipate provider needs regarding patient treatment.
