About the Optometric Technician Position
As an Optometric Technician/Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of the optometric office. You will assist doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
The target is to complete all of these activities with accuracy, with efficiency, and with a friendly, positive disposition. Happy patients are the reason we have a busy practice!

Medical Assistant ResponsibilitiesInterview patients and document basic medical history
Perform preliminary vision testing up to and including refraction
Perform ancillary testing, such as fundus photography, corneal thickness measurements, OCT testing and visual field testing
Assist during medical examinations
Coordinate the ordering of diagnostic contact lenses
Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
Prepare and clean exam rooms and medical instruments
Friendly, positive disposition and a willingness to learn a new career or continue your career with a friendly, team-focused private practice
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Social perceptiveness and service oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Reliable transportation and willing to travel to multiple locations on occasion
