Role Summary
Responsible for identifying and coordinating the completion of optimization projects throughout the mine site.
Main Responsibilities | Activities
- Actively pursue the development of new ideas and process improvements to improve overall efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase productivity.
- Collect and evaluate improvement ideas from site personnel while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Undertake continuous improvement projects related to mining or maintenance activities as directed and actively participate in their completion.
- Perform cost benefit analysis on improvement projects
- Conduct project evaluations on mine improvement projects and present results to management.
- Support various departments with the completion and reporting of projects.
- Actively engage with mining crews and present short interval KPI’s during 5:30am shift lineups.
- Start time for this role will be 5am, working on a 4/3 schedule.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Education, Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Engineering; appropriate combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree requirements.
- 0-2 years of professional experience (technical and/or operations); underground experience preferred but not required.
- Strong computer skills and previous experience with mining software preferred. (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan)
- Strong analytical abilities along with good communication skills
- Strong Project Management skills required.
