Work Arrangement
Hybrid - This role requires the employee to be onsite a minimum of three days per week. The primary work location will be Warren, MI. There will be occasional travel to various GM sites (~15%).
The Role
It’s time to transition from ICE and be part of the electric revolution. In our quest to zero, zero, zero here at GM we are looking for someone to join our high performing Battery Cell manufacturing engineering team as a battery formation & Test Software Engineer. In this role you will be working in a fast pace high tech environment, responsible for helping to accomplish our Battery Cell production goals.
As a Software Engineer, you will work with other process engineers and the Lead Software Engineer to create solutions for Battery Cell testing in manufacturing environments. This will include time in labs and plants to debug and support the applications. Being self-motivated with a high degree of initiative will set you up for success in this role.
What you’ll do
- Develop, test, and document new software programs with clean extendable code
- Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization
- Identify ideas to improve system performance and reliability
- Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation
- Work with IT and other ME resources to deploy and update applications
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Object Oriented Programming in NI LabVIEW, NI-TestStand
- Demonstrated experience using LabVIEW, and NI-TestStand.
- Experience with version control software
- Experience working on large software projects as part of a software development team
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or similar.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Demonstrated experience with product development
- Experience working in a Automotive or other highly regulated industry (medical devices, defense, aerospace, food safety, etc.)
- Experience with continuous integration, git, svn, or cvs.
- Experience with industrial control systems
- Experience with C#, Python and C.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL database, MongoDB, MySQL or other databases.
- Experience writing code on Windows and/or using Win32 API
