We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Engineering and design team. This role involves a wide range of engineering tasks supporting the design, fabrication, and manufacturing of quantum and photonic technology components and systems. As a member of our cross-disciplinary team, you will contribute to cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and fabricate glass cells, optomechanics, and components for optical and fiber optic systems.
- Perform precision assembly and quality assurance testing of quantum devices and photonics systems.
- Develop and automate hardware controls,
- Engage in hands-on tasks including glass fusing, bonding, and handling of delicate equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to technical specifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Masters in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in product design, engineering, and manufacturing.
- Expert in CAD and SolidWorks for Mechanical Engineering design.
- Experience with COMSOL or similar simulation tools highly perferred.
- Experience with programming languages such as LabView, Python, and C is highly beneficial.
- Strong capability in both analog and digital electronics.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment and handling delicate materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers and external collaborators.
- Self-motivated, meticulous, and detail-oriented with a high level of organization and planning skills.
