Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the facility, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed
- Handle animals with care and compassion, using proper restraint techniques when necessary
- Assist with training and socialization activities for animals
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior observations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals, such as dog training, animal handling, or veterinary experience, is preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting or prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
