Description
The Operations Supervisor, supervises and organizes the setup, maintenance and tear-down of all events. The Operations Supervisor oversees all Operations Staff members to ensure event operations are well maintained and presentable for guests. The Operations Supervisor is the primary production and floor contact for clients and events. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is an essential team player cross the organization, working collaboratively with all departments to ensure client and guest needs are addressed quickly.

COMPETITIVE WAGE:
  • Complete wage range: $18.66-$24.66 per hour, depending on experience

WHAT DO OPERATIONS SUPERVISORS DO?
  • Supervises and monitors event set up and operations to ensure space is presentable and meets client expectations and fire code
  • Organizes effective teams and draws upon the talents of each team member
  • Accommodates, anticipates, and responds to client and guest needs and requests
  • Supervises, motivates, and continually trains and coaches operations team members
  • Ensures all operations staff follow all safety and organizational policies and procedures
  • Completes daily shift reports, to-do lists, and other organizational tasks and supervisory reports as needed
  • Responsible for opening and closing the building, securing, maintaining the facility performance and tasks completed during each shift
  • Holds all Operations staff accountable for overall customer service and productivity during events
  • Delegates tasks, expectations, priorities and deadlines to operations team
  • Defines objectives, sets clear team goals, plans and supervises team projects
  • Reads, interprets, and analyzes event orders and diagrams
  • Makes decisions within policy guidelines and assumes responsibility
  • Provides leadership to promote a positive team environment
  • Listens to team members' feedback and helps to resolve issues or conflicts
  • Assists Operations Manager with training and performance of operations team members
  • Provides and assists with power needs for clients
  • Supervises and sets up tables, chairs, and other event equipment in a safe, timely manner as directed by Event Order and complete the tear down at the conclusion of the event
  • Maintains cleanliness of event rooms, lobbies, restrooms, service halls, warehouse and storage areas
  • Supervises outdoor cleanliness of the Grove Plaza, loading dock and sidewalk perimeter of Boise Centre
  • Supervises restrooms cleanliness, restocks restroom supplies, and removes trash
  • Operates and supervises use of heavy equipment; forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift, walkie-stacker, and driving vacuum
  • Supervises and coordinates loading dock traffic and warehouse activities
  • Reports maintenance requests for damages, broken equipment and other facility concerns
  • Reports lost and found items immediately for record keeping and storage
  • Responds to emergency situations and resolve operational problems
  • Assists with building and event security including perimeter checks and monitoring guest access
  • Identifies and resolves potential trip hazards, water spills, and broken glass
  • Responds quickly to client and department needs and changes
  • Performs a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
  • Minimum of 1-year event or applicable experience, required
  • Team leadership experience or supervisory training, required
  • Must be willing to become Forklift Certified
  • Leadership skills and ability to direct and delegate tasks
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to learn HVAC control system
  • Skilled in basic audio-visual equipment operation
  • Skilled in operation of forklifts, electric pallet jacks and scissor lifts
  • Ability to delegate tasks, perform multiple functions, and be flexible with changes in work loads
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
  • Ability to perform multiple functions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume work environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and be flexible with changes in work loads
  • Provides timely and thorough customer service to internal and external customers
  • Communicates regularly within department and cross functional teams
  • Interacts professionally and effectively with others
  • Professionally deal with own emotions, reactions, and motivations and maintain a courteous demeanor at all times

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and perform heavy manual labor for extended periods
  • Frequently will: stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, stoop, kneel, and twist; reach and use of ladders, stools, and stairs; lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally will: ascend tall heights up to 22 feet and work in outdoor weather conditions, be exposed to moderate noise levels

Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours, long hours, weekends, evenings, overnights, and holidays
