We have an exciting opportunity to join our newly opened AC Hotel Tempe, a 159-room lifestyle select service hotel, as an Operations Supervisor

Job Summary: Operations Supervisor

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises the B&F Operations for all meal services when scheduled. Also, assist in the operations of banquets when needed. Meeting room set-up/breakdown, banquet food preparation or setup.
  2. Works to assist in achieving budgeted revenues, controls expenses, and maximizes profitability within assigned areas. Maximizes profitability by minimizing waste and analyzing forecasts, cost, and revenue reports.
  3. Circulates through each dining area to seek opportunities to improve satisfaction. Immediately handles any guest concerns or complaints.
  4. Ensures all dining, service and kitchen areas are clean and properly set up. Maintains sufficient inventory of food, supplies, and equipment and orders as needed. Participates in weekly/monthly inventories.
  5. Ensures equipment is properly maintained. Ensures compliance with all food and beverage regulations.
  6. Follows all standard food handling, TIPS, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
  7. Must wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes. Follows all safety policies and procedures. Reports potential safety issues to manager whenever observed and takes immediate action to resolve emergency situations. Maintains strict compliance with hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and familiarizes self with current MSDS.
  8. Reports to work as scheduled (on time and on regular basis).
  9. Responds to guest inquiries and coordinates special arrangements and requests.
  10. Ensures that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages. Notifies management of any problems resulting from guest complaints, intoxication, or disruptive behavior.
  11. Assists with supervising the Housekeeping operations or rooms operations when needed.
  12. Regularly tours assigned areas of the property to ensure housekeeping standards are met and checks productivity in completion of assignments.
  13. Coordinates cleaning and maintenance schedules according to guest needs, working with front desk and maintenance personnel. Verifies completion of laundry and inventory restocking.
  14. Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refers the matter to management.
  15. Supplements team's efforts by assisting with department services (i.e. laundry, B&F and housekeeping) as needed.

Job Requirements:

  1. Must have excellent customer service/communication skills to work with guest of various social, cultural, economic and education backgrounds for the purpose of resolving problems/complaints and providing a high level of guest satisfaction.
  2. Completes required training as  scheduled.
  3. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Requires attention to detail. mush be able to solve problems and remaining calm and alert if dealing with difficult guests, during busy activity periods or in an emergency situation.
  4. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English to understand instruction, safety rules, and communicate with guests and government agencies.
  5. Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
  6. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Work schedules will include working on holiday, weekends and alternate shifts.
  7. Must maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor.
  8. Must be able to stand and walk around for an 8-hour shift. Emergency situations May require running to secure a situation or provide emergency response.
