5J Transportation is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our growing team!
Responsibilities:
- The Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company achieves its annual and long-range targets for safety, cost, quality, and delivery
- Motivate staff to reach goal
- Ensures driver compliance
- Hiring/Firing duties
- Account management
- Quote bids
- Approve PTO
- Ensure company standards for customer service are upheld
- Resolve driver issues and problems
- Analyze drivers and wages
- Analyze accounts
- Analyze new projects
- Maintain and identify new KPI’s for departments
- Approve payroll
- Responsible for conflict resolution
- Provide daily summary of business activities to Senior Vice President of Operations
- Search for business growth opportunities
- Ensure all departments and business are functional when absences occur in the workplace
- Confer with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
- Drive and assist both sales and quoting teams
- Continuously seek new customers and revenue streams
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of McLeod
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Recommended but not required: CDL
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently
- Possesses drive and initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Contribute to a positive work environment
- Desire to grow professionally
Travel Requirement:
Position travels up to 15% of the time
