The Operations Manager, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics oversees the operation of the department and to guide its success by creating an environment sufficient in resources, training, system integration, leadership, and supervision for its workforce. The Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supporting patient care services to patients in a fiscally effective manner. The Manager will be responsible for planning, marketing, and management of the functions of the Section. Ensures operations are consistent with Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s mission, goals, and objectives.

• Plans and administers, directly or through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of quality patient care for assigned programs/areas.
• Hires, orients, oversees training and development, schedules, assigns work to, evaluates, disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel.
• Develops, approves, and monitors staffing, capital, and operating budgets.
• Participates in developing goals and objectives and in designing and implementing appropriate plans to meet agreed upon goals and long-range planning Section.
• Participates in developing department policies and procedures and ensures staff effectively administer approved policies and procedures.
• Promotes continuous improvement by developing and revising standards, implementing appropriate corrective actions to resolve discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with the Corporate Integrity Program.
• Serves as a resource to assigned staff in resolving clinical or management problems and concerns.
• Participates on a variety of committees to achieve coordinated care for services with other departments.
• Develops and maintains a variety of external contacts including educational affiliates and so forth.
• Develops and/or monitors usage of charge codes for Section. Recommends charge levels consistent with competitive market conditions. Ensures accurate coding of services provided and provides comparative analysis for charge activity.
Education: MBA, Master’s Health Science Administration or Masters in Nursing and evidence of advanced course work in business administration.
Skills: Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other hospital department personnel.
Analytical ability necessary to develop sound policies, procedures, and budgets for assigned units.
Keeps abreast of developments and trends in areas of responsibility.
Experience Experience with practice management preferred.
