Job Description

As a member of the Pioneer Golf team, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on our staff’s and customers’ experience and will be an integral part of our growth. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as the full-time, in-office Operations Manager. We are looking for a proven manager with outstanding management skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills who will directly lead a team of approximately 10 individuals. This team is responsible for putting together the hundreds of customized trips abroad that we organize for our customers. The ideal candidate will relish the challenge of leading a team that is responsible for organizing flawless trips while delivering 5-star service. Travel always presents challenges and problems to resolve so the right candidate must possess a positive, can-do attitude and such a confidence in their problem solving ability that it allows them to approach each issue with the belief they have the skills to find a resolution and the ability to handle any customer with ease and professionalism.

We prioritize applicants who submit a cover letter relating this position to their skill set.

Position is in-office (not remote or hybrid) and hours are 7am to 4pm to avoid Austin traffic and to overlap more with working hours in Europe.

About you:

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are able to multitask multiple priorities at once.
  • You pride yourself in your problem solving skills. If you don’t consider yourself to be an out-of-the-box thinker and have problem solving skills well above average, this position will not be a good fit.
  • You are effective at project management/tracking and see tasks through to completion. You find challenges exciting and enjoy executing them to completion; no task is too big or too small.
  • You are a skilled communicator. You are professional and well-spoken.
  • You conduct yourself with integrity and have the ability to thrive in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.
  • You deliver by being extremely resourceful. You are adaptable, reliable, and outgoing.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience managing at least a handful of direct reports and have a passion for employee relations.
  • You thrive on helping others to perform at their best and on motivating a team to succeed.
  • You are able to handle conflict and are able to confront difficult situations with those you manage with ease and professionalism. You command respect while being an empathetic leader who can provide direction and keep a team engaged and productive.
  • You have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team of 9-12 individuals (6-7 Trip Coordinators and 3-4 Assistant Trip Coordinators) while providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to track progress and identify areas of concern.
  • Assist with year-round employee performance review processes, evaluation of employee performance, and development throughout the year.
  • Collaborate on all aspects of hiring, training, and development of Trip Coordinating staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution trips and initiatives.
  • Assist in navigating through a period of high growth as we ramp up our operations department to keep up with sales.
  • We’re a small company… so pitching in elsewhere when necessary is a requirement.

Required qualifications/experience:

  • At least 2+ years of experience supervising a team of at least 4-5 direct reports in an office environment.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and self-directed, with the ability to prioritize and efficiently execute against a variety of responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent conflict management and problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable with decision making in ambiguous and unorthodox situations.
  • Comfortable with wearing many hats and adapting to our growth and providing direction and leadership.
