Role Purpose Statement
We are seeking a highly motivated Operations Intern to join our team at LSG Sky Chefs. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic and fast-paced environment of airline catering operations. The Operations Intern will work closely with our operations team to support various aspects of our day-to-day operations, contributing to the efficient and smooth functioning of our facilities.
Main Accountabilities
- Collaborate with production managers to plan and schedule daily production activities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals to our airline clients.
- Support inventory control processes by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, and assisting with inventory replenishment activities.
- Participate in quality control inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company standards. Help implement corrective actions as needed to maintain quality and safety protocols.
- Provide general operational support, including but not limited to, assisting with equipment maintenance, coordinating transportation logistics, and facilitating communication between different departments.
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the operations workflow. Propose innovative solutions and assist in implementing process optimization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory transactions, and quality assurance checks. Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as kitchen staff, logistics personnel, and quality assurance specialists to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operational tasks.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in performing tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
