Job Description:
L3Harris Flight Academy is an accredited flight school located within the Orlando-Sanford International Airport. We provide an excellent and rigorous flight training program for those passionate about flying and wanting to pursue a career as a professional pilot. We have a diverse student body with students from over 30 different countries enrolled in our programs. We are expanding our admissions and operations team and are hoping to find the right candidate to help us meet our department goals and objectives.
Functions:
- Work as an integral part of the Operations team to ensure the student/instructor schedules align with the course and lessons that are to be conducted.
- Responsible for conducting scheduling audits prior to schedule being made for the day to include; cancellation reports, training progress reports, etc.
- Responsible for regular oversight and enforcement of flight crew policies relating to crew schedule and records.
- Ensure daily schedule is within compliance regarding student/instructor duty time policy and instructor duty time regulations.
- Ensure flight crew is compliant with applicable pre-flight action to include aircraft maintenance records and ramp operations.
- Assist flight supervisor team to ensure timely departure and arrival of scheduled ground, simulator, and flight lessons.
- Audit and correct instructor records monthly for expiring identification, recurrent training, and certifications.
- Audit student records weekly for adherence to flight crew record-keeping policies and student documentation.
- Assist with auditing training events and check events in support of the Training and Standards Department
- Work with Manager of Flight Standards and Manager of Flight Training to assist in running calibration training for all instructors company wide
- Periodically ramp checks for pre/post flight procedures as well as pilot and aircraft required materials
- Assist Flight Training and Standards with implementing corrective action for undesirable trend information
- Efficiently and effectively utilize a computer and related software including Microsoft Suite, building spreadsheets (formulas, pivot tables, formatting).
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree is preferred.
- 8-10 years in customer service, data collection, or operations including aviation, flight operations, or business operations.
- Must hold a valid Flight Instructor Certificate and be willing to fly with students
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Holds a CFI-I and MEI rating
- Problem Solving
- Previous experience in a flight training environment
- Experience with Flight Schedule Pro
- Ability to handle multi-tasking, organization, and efficient work to accomplish daily/weekly/monthly objectives of the position and operations department.
- Able to work well in a team environment and possess a positive attitude.
