Operating Partner, Portfolio Capital Formation

We are seeking an Operating Partner, Portfolio Capital Formation who has a track record of successfully identifying and closing lead investors at later-stage technology companies. Our ideal candidate is someone who will guide and support our deep tech portfolio companies (across next-gen computing, AI and automation, logistics and infrastructure, and energy transition), to achieve the necessary business development milestones and customer traction before fundraising, ensuring an optimal outcome for the portfolio company.

• Identify and close lead investors for our larger and later-stage portfolio companies. 

• Provide expert counsel on the entire funding lifecycle, from initial stages to subsequent rounds. 

• Develop a comprehensive fundraising playbook to help Portfolio Companies understand the capital-raising process.

• Collect market intelligence and perform ongoing research on deal activity in Playground Global’s key sectors.

• Foster relationships with deep tech senior executives, including but not limited to CFOs and independent board members.

• You have extensive experience raising large funding rounds ($100M - $1B) for companies, nonprofits or equivalent. 

• You have experience working with clients across different asset classes, including Private Equity, Real Estate, Debt, Credit, VC, etc. 

• You have a track record of successfully identifying and closing lead investors at later-stage technology companies.

• You have a strong network and the ability to build and maintain relationships with investors, acquirers, and advisors.

• You possess strong written and verbal communication. Independent executor who has strong collaboration skills.

The job is based in Palo Alto, California, and is not eligible for remote status. 

The annual base salary range is $300,000 to $400,000. This range represents the low and high end of this California-based position's anticipated base salary range. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge, and skills.
