Job Summary
A Material Handler assists with the loading/unloading of materials and deliveries and moves them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cycle counts where inaccuracies are occurring within the Epicor system.
- Work with plant operations and departments to determine causes of inventory quantity inaccuracies in the Epicor system.
- Be responsible for implementation (not design) of process change to record inventory movements more accurately between customers, suppliers, and departments.
- Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and shipping/receiving.
- Participate in all scheduled full or reduced scope physical counts of inventory at either company facilities or suppliers.
- Investigate quantity discrepancies between suppliers and customers to determine cause of breakdown in accuracy. Recommend solutions to problems observed.
- Operate forklift as needed to verify inventory movements from one area to another.
- Work with the purchasing department to verify quantities for re-ordering.
- Preform aging and usage review on items and recommend actions to use return sell or otherwise dispose of overstocked items to maximize return on assets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of how Inventory works in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced MS Office Suite skills and keyboarding skills
- Ability to operate scanners, computers and forklift as needed to verify processes and procedures are being followed.
- Ability to count and perform basic math.
- Ability to navigate the Epicor system to determine how activity is being tracked to verify process integrity.
- Ability to multi-task successfully
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effectively interact in a team environment as well as work independently
