What You’ll Do

This position is located in the Office of Family Assistance (OFA). OFA oversees cash and food assistance programs, work support programs for recipients of cash and food assistance, and refugee programs. Learn more about the office by visiting the Office of Family Assistance webpage.

The ideal candidate will excel in, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise training staff who assess, analyze, and deliver training to county staff
  • Provide direction on Policy and Technical Assistance issues
  • Work with other team members, ODJFS staff, and county staff to determine changes needed to training
  • Attend meetings and trainings as assigned

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position is currently designated as a remote work position; however, remote work designations are subject to change based on the agency’s operational needs and remote work status. Telework is considered a privilege and agreements are periodically reviewed and/or can be rescinded at any time. If telework agreement is rescinded, the selectee will be required to report to the position's headquarter location at 30 E. Broad St., 32nd Floor, Columbus, OH 43215.

Travel: Travel to meetings and/or trainings as necessary.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

OPTION 1:

  • 24 mos. exp. preparing & delivering informational & instructional programs for adults using instructional design model & doing & analyzing performance needs assessments.
  • OR OPTION 2:
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, or related field.
  • OR OPTION 3:
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.

Technical & Professional Skills Utilized: organization; multi-tasking; attention to detail; strong research skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to supervise staff who have both individual and group assignments; knowledge of SNAP and/or TANF programs.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $35.74 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
