ROLE SUMMARY
The Oncology Health IT Solutions Account Director will be a member of the Pfizer Oncology Customer Solutions Team and will be responsible for working with medical to help develop and lead the Oncology Health IT strategic approach and customer engagement. The Oncology Health IT Solutions Account Director will provide functional and technical expertise to help NCI centers, Leading Health Systems and oncology practices to understand how to harness their Health IT systems to overcome barriers and to improve patient management for patients on Pfizer's oncology medications. The Solution Account Director helps customers understand the value of optimizing their clinical workflow by creating greater awareness of preexisting EHR population health functionality. This role focuses on the core therapeutic areas of the Pfizer Oncology BU, namely metastatic breast cancer, prostate cancer, renal cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, patients with hematologic cancers, and melanoma. Relevant functionalities of the EHR systems and the like include, clinical decision support consistent with evidence-based guidelines (e.g., alerts, hard edits, screeners and order sets), standing orders/protocol orders, patient outreach and education (e.g. patient portals and reminders), pursuit and medication database lists and measurement/reporting tools.
The Oncology Health IT AD will be able to speak knowledgably about the various EHR implemented across the Pfizer Key Accounts including cloud-based systems (e.g. OncoEMR, iKnowMed, Varian) and the mix of server-based systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) with bolt on offerings (e.g., Carevive, Navigating Cancer, Noona).
*The ideal candidate should be able to travel to HQ (New York) and the eastern half of the United States as needed for team / customer engagements
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the Health IT functional and technical subject matter expert for medical, Pfizer Oncology Key and National Account Managers, and broader marketing community to help them understand the application of appropriate Health IT strategies and deliver targeted outcomes through the use of Health IT resources (e.g. attend customer meetings, lead best practice forums, proactively engage Oncology Account Managers to discuss barriers and opportunities, etc.)
  • Liaise directly with Medical and Pfizer Oncology Account Managers and customer representatives (i.e., CIO, CMIO, Quality Director) in joint commercial medical opportunities to conduct on-site "current state" workflow assessments and recommend potential Health IT solutions utilizing approved resources.
  • Support the technical design, implementation, and measurement of Health IT solutions for Health IT collaborations between Pfizer and Oncology Key Account customers
  • Contribute to the portfolio HIT strategy for Pfizer Oncology and consult on the development of joint commercial and medical RC-approved, scalable, EHR/EMR enabled tools and resources to overcome barriers to optimizing the management of MBC, PC, RCC, Lung, Hematologic, Colorectal and Melanoma cancer patients
  • Liaise across Pfizer BUs for Health IT related issues and inform overall Pfizer Health IT strategy based on Health IT landscape
  • Attend and share relevant insights from major Health IT conferences and Pfizer Health IT summits
  • 30%-50% travel (internal meetings and customer engagements)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS degree required, MBA or advance degree in a Health IT related field preferred; RHIA/RHIT a plus
  • Significant experience in the functional and technical application of health information technology
  • Experience in the functional and technical application of health information technology required across in-patient and ambulatory settings
  • Clinical integration experience across the care continuum
  • An understanding of the Health IT landscape including inter-relationships of the players within the Health IT space - vendors, third-party data sources, etc.
  • Hands- on experience with top EHR products preferred (e.g., Epic, Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, Cerner, etc.)
  • An understanding of the impact of healthcare reform initiatives on the healthcare environment including Leading Health Systems, Pharma, Payers, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills are necessary to manage diverse needs, meet deadlines and monitor and evaluate results
  • Excellent presentation skills required
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Oncology Experience preferred

  • The Oncology HIT Account Director will regularly interact with the Field Medical Outcomes and Analytics team, Oncology Key Account and National Account Managers, Brand Marketing, Medical and Legal

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,900.00 to $261,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
