The Onboarding Specialist will manage all onboarding, termination, and lateral employment changes to support the Human Resources Department. Duties/Responsibilities
- Partners with the Human Resources Managers to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to recruiting, onboarding, orientation, lateral transfers, and terminations.
- Assist in the recruiting process and facilitate employee onboarding and orientation.
- Update HRIS database and process paperwork for new hires, terminations, and other employee changes.
- Create, maintain, and routinely audit personnel files for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and requirements.
- Assist with or prepare HR correspondence including employment verifications, annual notices, forms, and procedures.
- Assist HR department with various HR programs, procedures, research projects and any other special projects when needed.
- Works with Managers on training initiatives, continued training, performance feedback, and onboarding for employees.
- Assists with maintaining files, forms, and database information associated with personnel, benefits, and unemployment in Paycom, and other systems as required.
- Track new hires from background checks to the completion of their first day, collecting HR paperwork, creating and distributing various logins, and conducting a weekly New Hire Orientation
- Answer routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, job openings and other general questions.
- Maintain employment resumes, application forms, and applicant flow logs.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes from a Human Resources perspective
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Basic knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must have the ability to sit for long hours while working from a desktop computer, phone system, and various software programs.
- Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift up to 30 pounds.
- May require some local travel, up to 25%. Mileage reimbursement provided.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s degree or higher or a minimum of 2 years of experience working in Human Resources preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
