Under direction of the Mineral Resources Inspector III, the Mineral Resources Inspector II independently witnesses, monitors, and inspects the drilling, production, safety, and pollution control operations of lessees of the State in order to ensure lease provisions and state and federal regulations are adhered to. This position is required to have a valid CA driver's license and drive a vehicle on official State business.
At the time a job offer is extended and prior to start date, the prospective hire must choose to voluntarily participate in the Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program ( SAM Section 0751 ) or must provide Human Resources Office a current copy of their California Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) driver record.

Working Conditions
• Willingness to travel by boat or helicopter as needed
• Must be able to pass swing rope test and be swing rope certified
• Occasional outside work at night, weekends, and holidays, and during inclement weather
• Travel on-road and off-road several times a week to sites using state or approved vehicle on official business
• Occasional overnight travel
• Occasional mandatory overtime
• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling
• Work in confined/restricted working environment
• Work in multistory offshore and onshore petroleum production facilities
• Work in sample laboratory
• Transport equipment up to 40 pounds
• Work inside and outside in varying temperature as needed
• Work may involve traversing long distances, negotiating rough, uneven, or steep surfaces
• Work outside in varying temperatures within geographical areas (e.g., desert, forest, coastline/beaches, along rivers, and lakes)

    2. Briefly describe the processing steps in an oil & gas production facility and some of its equipment and safety systems.

• Experience in offshore Oil and Gas operations
• Knowledge of the workings of a meter prover

General Qualifications:
Ability to adhere to the general qualifications outlined in California Code of Regulations 2 CCR 172 .
