The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is currently seeking a new Oil and Gas Inspector to join our team.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
In this position, your duties will include overseeing monitoring and compliance efforts, conducting reviews, and enforcing regulations for a specific geographic region. These responsibilities encompass the administration of the Oil and Gas Act, Conservation Law, Coal and Gas Resource Coordination Law, as well as the rules, state regulations, and policies. You will conduct regular inspections of Oil and Gas wells and related facilities using Department-provided electronic equipment to document and record all inspections. This includes inspections of wells in both coal and non-coal areas, as well as conservation wells, observation wells, and Gas storage reservoirs. Inspections will cover drilling, production, alteration, and plugging phases, with a focus on ensuring compliance during these stages. Relevant documents and resources, such as permits, maps, well logs, and handbooks, may be consulted as needed to support the inspection process. Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.
