Protects and patrols Tribal properties and provides a safe environment for Tribal Members, employees and guests. Reports, logs, and resolves safety and security related issues. Possibility of assuming Officer in Charge(OIC) duties as needed.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure that each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with agencies and individuals in the course of your duties. Completes assignments in accordance with departmental rules and regulations. Respond to emergency alarms. Report unsafe conditions to the appropriate departments, i.e., electrical, water treatment, facilities, etc. Responds to calls for the protection of life and property. Responds to any disturbances on property or off property as instructed. Observe and respond to suspected illegal activity. Assists local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and emergency services. Questions suspects, victims, and witnesses; may make arrests and searches for and preserves evidence from crime scenes; requests outside law enforcement as needed. Prepares evidence and reports of investigations and arrests; writes clear and comprehensive reports. Operates company vehicles as directed and patrols all sections of Jackson Rancheria property, and off-property locations. Keeps firearms and other equipment maintained and in safe operating condition. Firearms are subject to inspection May serve as a personal escort or provide transportation to Tribal Members. Sorts, delivers, secures, and handles personal Tribal mail and deliveries in a confidential manner. May handle wildlife related calls such as rattle snake relocation, animals in distress, and pests. Will be required to dispatch animals suffering from life-ending injuries. Patrols un-developed areas of Tribal land utilizing off-road vehicles or ATVs. Patrols Tribal properties both on and off the reservation. Filing and maintaining paperwork. Accurate log keeping and report writing. "Communication of Emergency Events" protocol. Performs other safety related tasks such as fire watch, traffic control, and welfare checks, and evacuations. Keeps equipment, (radios, computers, surveillance systems), in good working condition. Maintains the cleanliness of vehicles utilized for patrol, and work areas, (includes occasional mopping, sweeping, and wiping down of surfaces). Attends firearms assessments, at managerial discretion. Assessments will be conducted at range.
QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School level education Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred. Prior experience in law enforcement, military or civilian security services is a plus.

Required to perform this job:
Ca. Class C Driver's license required Must be vehicle insurable through Jackson Rancheria's Agent. All armed positions require that the employee/applicant pass a Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, (BSIS), certified firearms training course and present BSIS Exposed Firearms Certification. All Officers are required to maintain their own BSIS Security Guard license and all applicable permits. First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Pay range: $19.00 - $24.70 per hour
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
