Inmate Assignment Office
Under the direct supervision of the Inmate Assignment Office (IAO) Lieutenant, the Office Technician (OT) is responsible to maintain the security of the institution, specifically, monitor inmate behavior and the actions of the inmate clerks assigned to the IAO. The OT shall ensure all Inmate Priority and Non-Priority Passes are processed from the Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS) and they are routed directly to the facilities daily. The OT is also responsible for the maintenance of inmate assignments and status reports. Additionally, the OT will coordinate the assigning of inmates in SOMS to vacant job positions after determining their eligibility status and the un-assigning of inmates as necessary. In the absence of the IAO Lieutenant the OT will process Off-Reservation Work Assignment Gate Passes and route to the Custody Operations Captain for review and approval. In the absence of inmate workers, is required to safely move 20 pound plus boxes of archived reports and printer paper supplies.
Personnel Timekeeper
Under the general supervision of the Personnel Supervisor II, this is the advanced journey level which regularly performs a variety of the most difficult duties and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence and originality in performing assigned tasks.

California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) is a medium Level II correctional facility with an inmate population consists of felon commitments. The primary goals of CRC are to provide an atmosphere of safety and security to the public, visitors, staff, and inmates.
In addition to staffing, CRC is also responsible for providing 100+ correctional custody personnel to provide medical guarding and transportation services to Patton State Hospital. CRC also provides Fire Suppression, Conservation, and Community Service assistance to the public.
Special Requirements
- The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
