The DTSC Office of Legislation and Regulatory Review (OLRR) is looking for a Records Coordinator to work at the nexus of the department’s policy development and implementation efforts. Our office works directly with scientific, administrative, and fiscal policy staff across programs on critical policy areas that affect the lives of all Californians.
As an Office Technician you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain large volumes of complex, confidential or non-confidential, and sensitive records by ensuring documents are filed in appropriate folders and locations in the OLRR physical file room in DTSC’s Headquarters and in the OLRR electronic library
- Prepare new folders for official regulatory packages physically and electronically submitted to the Office of Administrative Law according to established records retention policies and archiving conventions
- Ensure accuracy of official records by periodically auditing files and cross referencing program and DTSC staff records
- Process file requests, research and retrieve records for DTSC staff and the public
Desirable Qualifications We Look for:
- Ability to function effectively in an electronic office; well-versed and skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe suite of products
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to ensure quality customer service and to communicate with DTSC staff and external stakeholders
- Experience managing large data sets, keeping meticulous records, and managing large quantities of files
- Experience coordinating travel arrangements such as hotel reservations and record-keeping for reimbursements, etc.
- Highly organized work habits and ability to work on multiple time-sensitive projects at one time
