Job description

About the Position: You will serve as the Office Support Assistant for the Revetment Units. You will perform various administrative, management, and fiscal assignments for the Unit in connection with assigned civil works construction, and other administrative support functions assigned to the office.Qualifications: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) performing the procedural and administrative work of an office such as making and preparing Government travel arrangements, records management, timekeeping, screening calls and visitors, and maintaining supervisor's electronic calendar; (2) utilizing a financial management tool to prepare data required for yearly budget submission; (3) preparation and coordination of civilian personnel action requests; and (4) knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications to prepare, review and edit correspondences, graphs, charts, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full academic year of graduate education directly related to the position. (Transcripts are required at the time of application).
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).Education: FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
