`Overview:
The Medical Receptionist will provide client care as they enter the main office, answer the phones and provide assistance to intake team. The Medical Receptionist will organize and coordinate office administration and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency and safety. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for assisting with billing, collections, prior authorizations, and insurance verification. They will assist with maintaining HR procedures and files. NewDay is a faith based mental health and substance use center where we provide inpatient to outpatient services.
Roles/Responsibilities:
· Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
· Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues
· Notifying providers of patient arrivals
· Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
· Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims
· Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
· Maintaining an office schedule for other staff members
· Keeping the front desk or office organized and running smoothly
· Calling patients to remind them of their appointments
· Provide administrative and clerical support to the Leadership Team
· Perform billing and collections
· Assist with banking and AR documentation
· Assist with scheduling appointments
· Provide general office assistance
· Assist with orientation and training of new staff
· Assist with HR tasks
· Other duties as assigned
Skill and Qualifications:
· Medical Assistant either by education or experience preferred
· Knowledgeable of Managed Care policies and procedures and is familiar with obtaining information from health plans and IPAs
· Excellent verbal, telephone and communication skills
· Experience working with Microsoft Office and possesses strong computer skills
· Can adjust to new environments easily and willing to learn new skills
· Can manage individual responsibilities with little or no direction
· Professional behavior and appearance
· Able to multitask
· Pays attention to detail and is quality focused
· Ability to use good judgment and seek appropriate resources in difficult or stressful situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
