General Description:
Under the general supervision of the Director, Community Medical Clinic, the Office Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of clinical and technical services at the Community Medical Clinic serving financially eligible clients. The Office Coordinator participates with the clinical staff in assessing, planning, coordinating and evaluating plan of care to ensure quality, appropriateness, timeliness and effectiveness of service rendered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates training, quality assurance monitoring and supervision of the clerical, clinical and technical aspects of services at CMC. Monitors and assists staff in preparing for formal patient assessment; obtaining vital signs, history/complaint, medication safety and performing diagnostic tests as ordered.
- Schedules diagnostic and referral appointments as ordered. Communicates with patients regarding call in requests after reviewed by clinic director or provider. Coordinates and ensures expedited clinic admission from hospitalist and emergency department discharges. Assists licensed authorized providers in medication acquisition, storage and distribution to patients.
- Assists the care partner in minor procedures such as PFT and EKG. Performs basic x-ray functions for the clinic and assists in the director in maintenance of data files. Maintains efficient daily quality control monitoring. Reports urgent interpreted lab and diagnostic study results to patients.
- Obtains and organizes patient information in cha1is prior to examination, chart review and medical record review.
- Enters work orders, client charges if needed. Participates in medication preparation as directed by licensed clinical staff. Maintains inventory control for medications, office and medical supplies.
- Monitors front and back office daily procedures to insure accuracy and timeliness in performance of clerical and technical staff.
- Assists in data collection and performs quality assurance monitoring.
- Participates in community outreach activities on behalf of the clinic. Attends health fairs and health related events meetings as director's designee as requested.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Formal Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 years to < 2 years related experience required.
