GENERAL OFFICE CLERK
(Recycling Division)
Job Summary
As a General Office Clerk at the Tyler Recycling Office, you will play a key role in supporting our mission of promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility through recycling services. This position is open to individuals with or without previous experience, as we are committed to providing training to the right candidate. Duties/Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Accurately input and maintain records, including customer information, using various software and/or applications.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional customer service both in person and over the phone. Address inquiries, assist customers with recycling processes, and ensure a positive experience.
- Payment Processing: Accept payments from customers for recycling services, issue tickets/receipts, and maintain accurate payment records. Balance all payment transactions at the end of each day. Ensure the security of all payment transactions.
- Phone Reception: Answer and route incoming calls, take messages, and provide general information to callers. Maintain a polite and helpful demeanor in all interactions.
- Email and Microsoft Outlook: Manage emails, respond to inquiries, schedule appointments, and coordinate communication with team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook is a plus.
- Gate Attendant: Act as a gate attendant for the recycling yard, ensuring that all visitors adhere to safety regulations and providing assistance as needed.
- Organization: Keep the office space clean and organized, ensuring a tidy workspace.
Required Skills/Abilities
- No previous experience required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
