CompuNet is looking for an Office Assistant for its Lakeview Office in Beavercreek
Position is Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.
Entry level position. Starting Rate is $15.00
Essential Duties:
- Greet each patient with the most professional customer service. Provide the patients with your name in case they have any additional questions, along with an approximate wait time. Communicate any delays in wait times to the patients in waiting areas.
- Keep patients in order, moving patients without a complete requisition to the side and call the provider to resolve the issue. Placing these patients back into the patient order.
- Call provider office for missing orders, missing DX codes, clarification- making sure to document the information
- Answer the phone in a timely manner
- Check Voicemails at least 3 times/day. Reply to Voicemails at least 3 times/day.
- Call patients once a recollect form has been received.
- Check fax machine 3 times (or more) daily.
- File faxes/orders that have all the required information, calling on the orders with missing information prior to filing.
- Maintain/organize Fax File (Discard orders that are over a year old) *Audit Monthly
- Check for orders for patients in Atlas, EPIC and the Fax File
- Take drop off specimens from patients/clients, complete the PSC drop-off log sheet noting time of collection and time of drop off, add the correct DROP-OFF Code to the order, verify all requisition information has been provided and check specimen integrity. Deliver specimen to the processing area.
- Give out collection kits to patients including collection instructions.
- Answer patients’ questions and concerns, or search for the answer.
- Verify patients’ demographics (address, phone, and insurance information in Atlas) or creating them as a new patient when necessary
- Ask patient if they want a copy (copies) to be sent, give the patient the proper request to complete while waiting, promoting My Labs Now.
- Post updated schedules and memos.
- Take payment at the front desk for patients paying bills, assist new employees who do not have payment training/access create receipts and take payment.
- Request patient have insurance card ready for the phlebotomist when called for service.
- Call Transportation for STATs when requested. Record confirmation number.
- Add supply orders in ASC-Track when asked.
- Follow regulatory requirements, corporate integrity standards and all departmental and company policies and procedures.
- Follow all compliance procedures and policies.
- Assist the Site Coordinator with the PSC monthly report.

- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Patient Service Center employees must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and cleaning driving record. Must maintain auto liability insurance in accordance with state law as well as meet and maintain CompuNet’s corporate insurance carrier’s auto liability standards.
- Ability to organize and complete work in an efficient and timely manner.
- Good communication skills
- Weekend rotation as scheduled per department policy.
- Possible exposure to chemical, biological and/or radioactive hazards.
- Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals
- Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
- Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
- Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
- Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
