- Own the commercial relationship with existing OEMs. Serve as primary contact person into HSM, and accountable for maximizing the level of customer satisfaction with our overall support program.
- Develop new business in designated segments to provide sales growth and diversification outside of the school bus market.
- Ensure pricing structures are in place that are market based, will allow HSM to achieve gross margin targets, and are easy to administrate.
- Facilitate contract negotiations to ensure HSM requirements are being met, while strategic needs/directions of both companies are thoughtfully addressed.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with assigned accounts.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure optimal alignment for execution of a customer-centric business model.
- Collaborate with the HSM Transportation commercial team to drive penetration into both existing and new markets, both on the OEM and aftermarket sides.
- Attend and support HSM presence at trade shows and customer events.
- Generate monthly forecast for assigned accounts.
- Provide input into the product roadmap process, sharing market insights, competitive intelligence, improvement ideas, and VOC.
- In conjunction with internal stakeholders, monitor that key performance metrics are being achieved, financial objectives attained, and any customer requested deliverables are on time with prescribed quality levels.
- Support the annual strategic plan process as needed, ensuring appropriate resources and programs are in place to maintain and continually improve our position at key accounts.
- OEM account management experience required
- Demonstrated success/track record in business development or new account sales roles
- Experience in a transportation related sector is a plus
- Must have spent time working with and/or in manufacturing-based companies
- Successful candidates will possess the following attributes:
- High initiative – self-starter, organized approach to account management, strong ability to generate and close new business, adept at managing longer sell cycles, competent/comfortable working with engineered products, professional selling skills, collaborative operating style, effective communicator.
- Four-year degree from accredited university
- At least 5 years’ experience in account management, sales, and/or business development.
- Industry relevant experience or exposure
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree
