Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) | Full-time or PRN
Setting: Skilled nursing facility
*Must have a California occupational therapy assistant license or be in the process of obtaining one.
*Will not consider CNA candidates
*We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
Description:
Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, you will implement the resident's plan for rehabilitation. Help mentally and/or physically impaired residents to participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance.
Responsibilities
- Implement the resident's plan for rehabilitation.
- Communicate resident progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; instruct resident's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
- Assist with resident scheduling and post charges daily to resident records.
- Document resident care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.
- Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate’s degree.
- Current and valid state OTA license in the California. If recently graduated, in the process of obtaining one.
- CPR certification.
Work Experience:
- 1 years acute care and/or skilled nursing facility experience (Preferred). New graduates welcome to apply.
