Must possess the skill to learn District policies and procedures related to warehouse operations; understand and follow both oral and written directions; maintain accurate supply and inventory records; effectively receive, store, and deliver supplies, materials, and equipment in a warehouse facility; communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties; read and write at a level necessary for successful performance of required duties; quickly and accurately perform arithmetical calculations; ability to meet the physical requirements of the job; ability to do physical work under conditions involving temperature extremes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Hand select orders within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures, including but not limited to; Dry, Cooler, and Freezer; receives, unloads stocks, stores, shelves, and re-shelves food and/or non-food items, supplies, materials and equipment; inspects incoming stock for conformity to purchase orders and packing slips; reporting shortages, damage, and other discrepancies; stack product on pallets in accordance with Nutrition Services selecting procedures (for example, no stacking heavy-on-light, labels facing out, etc.); operate an electric pallet jack or forklift to transport product stage pallets for loading on proper dock locations to assist Warehouse Workers for deliveries. Follows food safety practices at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions; maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack, personal protective equipment. Perform pre/post trip inspections, and safely operate all mechanical equipment; frequently lift product that weighs 1-70 pounds; frequently reach up to 72 inches; constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift, retrieving items from lower shelf areas; shrink-wrap product on loading dock; attend all required department meetings; performs related duties as required; Incorporated within one or more of the previously mentioned essential functions of this job description are the following essential physical requirements. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:Successful completion of Forklift Operations Course required within the first 5 months of employment in position; Six months' warehouse experience preferred
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA or G.E.D. ARE REQUIRED AND MUST BE SUBMITTED
MUST POSSESS AND MAINTAIN A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE. MUST SUBMIT A RECENT DMV (3 YEAR MINIMUM) DRIVING RECORD WITH APPLICATION.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK AND PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF POSITION: Successful candidate will participate in the receipt, storage, loading, unloading, and inventory of Nutrition Services food goods related to assigned Nutrition services warehouse operations. Employees in this classification receive direct to general supervision from a supervisory level or his/her designate within a framework of standard policies and procedures. Positions allocated to this classification are located at the Nutrition Services warehouse facilities. This job classification exercises responsibility for assisting in the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and inventory of District food and non-food items, supplies, materials, and equipment.(took out district wide mail delivery and operations)
STARTING SALARY: $3,506.39 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
