Responsible for the overall operational efficiency, quality and process maintenance of a Nonwoven department. Able to apply specialized skills to quality inspections, operation, process maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjusting of Nonwoven carding process, department and auxiliary components.
- Ensures adherence to all safety rules and uses proper safety equipment/PPE at all times.
- Responsible for operating a Nonwoven line competently and productively.
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing Nonwoven process equipment and auxiliary components.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving mechanical and operational problems.
- Uses measuring tools including micrometers, vernier calipers, etc. to ensure proper process setup.
- Performs and coordinates product changes to meet production requirements.
- Performs and documents preventative maintenance on processing equipment.
- Shares knowledge and techniques with team members and assists with training.
- Responsible for making sure all documentation is filled out correctly and submitted in a timely fashion.
- Keeps a current logbook on machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Follows necessary GMP and ISO regulations/guidelines.
- Performs quality assurance inspections and maintains quality standards for the product being produced.
- Examines defects and scrap causes and whenever possible takes appropriate corrective action; analyzes and records production delays on downtime report.
- Keeps the machine and surrounding areas clean at all times.
- Assists maintenance personnel as needed.
- Assists the Supervisor.
- Manages lines through team approach principals and developing effective, self-sustaining work teams.
- Utilizes skills in other businesses as required and performs other duties where assigned.
- Knowledge of product specifications, quality specifications, goals, efficiency, scrap, and production.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in and manage a team oriented environment.
