Position Summary 

The Nursing Lab Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and effective management of Nursing Laboratory facilities, equipment, and resources, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for students. This role plays a crucial part in fostering an inclusive organizational culture, providing holistic student support, practicing fiscal stewardship, and maintaining a high level of knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field of nursing education. The position is also responsible for a variety of other front office clerical duties that keep our program functioning at it optimal performance, which incorporate contract management, clinical placement activity, and office supply inventory. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices: 

• Cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment that respects diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

• Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of collaboration and respect among faculty, staff, and students. 

• Support faculty in integrating culturally competent and inclusive teaching practices in the lab setting. 
   

Holistic Student Support: 

• Collaborate with faculty to plan and execute lab activities that enhance the learning experience of nursing students. 

• Provide guidance and mentorship to students, helping them develop clinical and critical thinking skills. 

• Offer assistance to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to lab resources and opportunities. 

Fiscal Stewardship: 

• Manage lab resources efficiently, including budgeting, inventory control, and equipment maintenance. 

• Identify cost-effective solutions for lab supplies, equipment upgrades, and technology integration. 

• Ensure compliance with institutional financial policies and procedures. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Stay current with trends and innovations in nursing education and healthcare practices. 

• Continuously update skills and knowledge in lab equipment operation and simulation technologies. 

• Train and supervise lab staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of care and safety in the lab. 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED  

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced office setting with a high level of sensitivity towards confidentiality and working with a diverse student 

• Proficiency in working with simulation equipment and classroom technology 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other commonly used office applications 

• Demonstrated skills in clerical functions 

• Strong organizational and communication skills 

• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse educational environment 

• Ability to learn new modern technologies 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Associate Degree in Nursing  

• Experience with TCPS & MyRecordTracker 

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
