Job Description:
The University of Saint Joseph invites applications for a Full-time Tenure Track or Non Tenure Track faculty position (9-month) in the Department of Nursing. The successful candidate will be a professional nurse and have a strong background in medical-surgical and/or acute care nursing as well as demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in teaching and scholarship.
The ideal candidate will use evidence-based best practices in support of the education of future nurses and graduate students. The candidate will contribute to the curriculum and employ classroom, clinical, and online teaching for undergraduate and graduate students.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Earned masters degree in nursing is required
- Earned doctoral degree in nursing (PhD, EdD or DNP) within six months of hire for tenure track candidates
- Licensed or eligible for license by the state of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse
- Licensed or eligible for license by the state of Connecticut as a Advanced Practice Registered Nurse preferred.
- Minimum of five years of acute care nursing experience.
- Minimum of two years of teaching in academic nursing programs is preferred with experience in curriculum development.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the University and to the highest standards of the profession of Nursing.
- Developing or continuing an active program of scholarship is required for tenure-track candidates.
- Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population
- Commitment to the mission of the University of Saint Joseph
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
