Summary of Duties:

The College of Nursing at Washington State University (WSU) in Spokane, WA invites applications for a permanent full-time tenured/tenure-track position in the Nursing and Systems Science Department at the Associate or Full Professor level. A successful candidate will have a current and active program of funded research, as well as clinical trials expertise.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a person who wants to make a significant difference working collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff within of the College of Nursing across all campuses and WSU Health Sciences, as it continues to create both knowledge and community impact across the state of Washington and beyond. This position is expected to be located primarily in Spokane, but location near one of the other WSU College of Nursing campuses (Tri-Cities, Vancouver or Yakima) may be negotiable.

Duties

Tenured and tenure track faculty positions are expected to divide their working time between research, teaching, and service. Publishing research in peer reviewed journals, acquiring research grants, and advising students and postdocs in research are expectations of these positions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have an earned PhD in Nursing, or a related field, by the time of hire.

  • Candidates must have a current and active program of funded research, including clinical trials expertise.

  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to building a world-class research and training program.

  • Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as a commitment to diversifying the student body.

Additional Required Qualifications to Meet Associate Professor Status

  • Candidates must have served at least six years at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a national reputation in their field of study.

Additional Required Qualifications to Meet Full Professor Status

  • Candidates must have served at least six years at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent.
  • Candidates must demonstrate both national and international reputations in their field of study.

Preferred Qualifications for all ranks:

  • A valid nursing license in the state of Washington, a comparable nursing credential, or a degree in nursing.
  • Demonstrated experience/expertise in clinical trials.

Annual 9-Month Academic Salary:

Associate Professor: $102,625.00

Full Professor: $120,162.00

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
