The Nursery Customer Service and PlantCare Team member would join a team that is responsible for assisting customers, watering, displaying, pruning, stocking, and assisting with deliveries and installations. Shifts/hours;
Full-time employees work 7-8-hour days with a half-hour none paid lunch from March thru Oct. We reduce operating hours during the winter Nov to Feb. Your days will be scheduled ahead of time based on workload demand.
Start times vary by season and tasking, with the potential for overtime, especially in spring.
December thru February the schedule varies by weather, Job’s closes for 1 ½ -2 weeks from just before Christmas to after New Year's. We are also closed on Thanksgiving and Easter.
Primary Tasks;
· Customer Service-Assist customers and provide excellent Customer Service. Provide accurate information about plants and products, help load as needed so customers can take plants home. As well as answer questions while on plantings and deliveries.
· Plant care – conduct spot watering, fertilizing, pest and disease management, pruning, weeding, and grooming for sale are performed accurately and according to a daily and seasonal schedule. Treat pest and diseases or proactively mitigates them according to and actively works to develop IPM
· Plant production - Aids with production getting plants ready for sale: Including collecting seeds and cutting on grounds, sowing seeds, processing cutting, dividing, and transplanting into larger pots. Keeping records and ensuring that plant production stays on schedule and Plants produced are of excellent quality.
· Labeling and Inventory – Coordinates with retail team to maintain inventory of plants; Prints price and label tags and signage as required accurately. Updates and creates informational signage as needed.
· Stocking-Support retail team in moving inventory from the production areas to the store area so customers can select plants easily.
· Assist with landscape services and deliveries when needed.
Minimum Qualifications;
· High school diploma or GED
