4West and 9Center are MedSurg Units of Butterworth Hospital.
9 Center is a 24 bed unit with part of the unit being designated for use as a Special Pathogens Treatment Center. One of 13 locations in the nation.
MedSurg is a great place to begin and grow your skills in direct patient care. They care for mainly the General Medical Patient Population, which could be patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, pneumonia, cellulitis, kidney failure, hyperglycemia, Diabetic Issues, Ulcers, Confused Elderly, Alcohol Abuse, Acute/Chronic Kidney Injury, Sepsis, Psychiatric Population.

Scope of work
Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
Cleans patient's environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
Self Schedule
We are seeking a candidate that will have availability to complete the required orientation class series Monday -Thursday in mid-end of February and then begin working 1 variable night shift per week to help support our team on 9Center MedSurg Unit. Having the flexibility to meet the needs of the unit and work at least 2 variable weeknights in addition to rotating weekends, is preferred.
Qualifications
• Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
